QE2’s magnificent mast design helped give the ship a racy and modern look. It tilted forwards slightly and combined with her angled bridge design made the ship appear fast even while alongside.
It was also a very cleverly hidden second funnel used to ventilate the kitchens and housed the ships whistles which gave QE2 an instantly recognisable voice.
