My first ever glimpse of QE2 was 22 years ago to the day, in Auckland Harbour. I was amazed by the size and grace of this magnificent ship. I boarded later that day and everything clicked - as a boy I decided there and then, I was going to be a maritime author and travel around the world lecturing on passenger ships.
