Yet another change made to QE2 during ‘Project Lifestyle’ (1994) was the recreation of her main restaurants. The Mauretania Restaurant emerged completely rebuilt as the Caronia and served first class passengers who used to dine in the Columbia Restaurant. It included the centrepiece of the “White Horses of the Atlantic” which represents water breaking off the bow of a thoroughbred transatlantic liner. The restaurant was renamed Mauretania in 1996.
